Over the past twenty years, Dr. Gino Yu has been actively engaged in digital entertainment research and education, founding many programs including the Multimedia Innovation Center and MERECL (now PlayLab) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During this period, he has also developed a personal interest in meditation, qi-gong, and the relationship between mind and body. Professional and personal interests merged with the establishment in 2009 of the Asia Consciousness Festival which included over 50 conferences, workshops, and cultural events over a two-week period. His main area research interests involve the application of media technologies to cultivate creativity and promote enlightened consciousness. He is a contributor to the Huffington Post and has given talks and keynote presentations around the world including the Global Creative Leadership Summit, and recently speaking at TED in Long Beach. Dr. Yu currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his BS and PhD at the University of California at Berkeley in 1987 and 1993 respectively and has over 70 publications in the areas of CAD, digital entertainment, creativity, and consciousness studies.
Shveitta Sethi has spent years studying and researching happiness. She ties in material from science, philosophy, psychology, spirituality and real life to deliver highly transformational interactive sessions . Originally from India, she has been in HKG for 20 years and has an MBA from The University of HKG. She brings in a unique perspective by combining the western approach of positive psychology with ancient eastern philosophies.
According to her, Happiness is a skill and the more we practice the better we get. It is within all of us to raise our happiness set points. She teaches about authentic happiness and bases her teachings on five pillars of happiness-namely, material, relational, spiritual, intellectual and health.
